From June 9th–16th 2024, I documented Emma Timmis at Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub as she attempted to break her fourth Guinness World Record for the ‘Greatest Distance Covered on a Treadmill in One Week’.
The great news is — she did it. A huge 846.16 km in seven days, smashing not only the women’s record but the men’s as well.Emma was also running in support of Speed Freaks, raising more than $11,000 in donations. I’ve been involved with the long-distance running community in one way or another for many years, but this experience was a standout.
A genuine highlight. I want to thank Emma and her support crew for such an incredible week and for making me feel so welcome.
Being part of a team like that — the focus, the humour, the grit — was something special. What a crew. What an event. Absolute legends, all of you.
